The Ares 90B-DC combines 90 mm stainless-steel flat burrs with timed and weight-based dosing. It is a hopper-fed grinder for repetitive espresso preparation, with a 5-inch touchscreen and handle-recognition functions for configuring the portafilters used at the bar.

The DC model has a specific motor configuration

This 90B-DC uses a brushed DC motor with fixed operating speed. It should not be confused with the brushless, adjustable-speed Ares 90B. The DC designation also does not mean that every Ares DC grinder includes weighing: the manufacturer lists a separate time-only 90-DC version.

From a stored target to a measured dose

Weight mode uses the integrated weighing system to follow grounds delivered into the portafilter. Time mode uses a programmed duration. Confirm the preset count on the supplied firmware, because the current manufacturer family chart and earlier US descriptions differ on program counts.

Place the grinder on a stable counter, configure the handles used during service and keep the weighing support unobstructed. An independent scale is useful for setup checks and for verifying the grinder if delivered doses begin to vary.

Published Ares grinding-rate claims differ across materials, so use a demonstration with your espresso setting when planning output rather than treating a single grams-per-second figure as guaranteed.
